Set in the 1960s, high school student Toru Watanabe loses his only friend Kizuki after committing suicide. Toru, now looking for a new life, enters a university in Tokyo. Coincidentally, Toru meets Kizuki’s ex-girlfriend Naoko at the university. They become close because they both share the same loss. As Toru and Naoko grow closer, Naoko’s sense of loss grows too. After Naoko’s 20th birthday, she goes to a sanatorium in Kyoto. Watanabe, devastated by the situation, meets the pure-hearted Midori in the spring semester. Norwegian Wood is not viewable on Netflix. If you’re interested in other movies and shows, you can access Netflix’s extensive library of titles at different subscription costs depending on the plan you choose: $9.99 per month for the Basic plan, $15.99 per month for the Standard plan, and $19.99 a month for the premium plan.

Disney Plus is expanding, but their branding is still pretty specific, and Norwegian Wood isn’t currently available to stream there. Disney+ lets you choose from a wide range of shows from Marvel, Star Wars, Disney+, Pixar, ESPN and National Geographic on the streaming platform for $7.99 monthly or $79.99 annually.


You won’t find Norwegian Wood on HBO Max. But if you are still interested in the service, it costs $14.99 per month, which gives you full access to the entire vault and is also ad-free, or $9.99 per month with ads. However, the yearly versions for both are cheaper, with the ad-free plan costing $150 and the ad-supported plan costing $100.

Amazon Prime Video

As of now, Norwegian Wood is not available to view for free on Amazon Prime Video. You can still buy or rent other movies through their service.

Peacock premium

Norwegian Wood didn’t make it into the Peacock streaming library. Peacock has many other shows and movies for just $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year for a premium account.

Outstanding plus

Nor is Norwegian Wood on Paramount Plus. Paramount Plus has two subscription options: the basic version of the ad-supported service Paramount+ Essential costs $4.99 per month and an ad-free premium plan costs $9.99 per month.

Norwegian Wood is not currently on Apple TV+, sorry! In the meantime, you can watch top-rated shows like Ted Lasso on Apple TV with a subscription price of $4.99 per month.
