The Supernovas will be looking to win their third title after winning the first two editions of the tournament in 2018 and 2019. They were beaten by the Trailblazers in the final of the last edition (2020) in Sharjah.
This is the second time Supernovas and Velocity have contested the finals after meeting in the title decider at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium in 2019. The Supernovas had won an exciting four wicket battle to win the trophy.
In that game, both teams have identical league stage records of the 2022 edition. Both won and lost a game each in round-robin, but surpassed Smriti Mandhana’s Trailblazers on Net Run Rate (NRR).
Harmanpreet has been in good form for the Supernovas so far in the tournament. The Indian T20I captain hit a solid 37 hit against Trailblazers in the first game and followed up with a brilliant 71 innings against Velocity. She made arguably the best catch of the tournament in the previous encounter between the two finalists.
