WayCAM has always supported the needs of our community, through good times and bad.
The last few years have been very difficult for all of us; Covid has changed the way we do business, socialize and spend money. WayCAM never missed a beat in all of this and found a way to bring important programs to our city.
Over the past decade, cable subscriptions have steadily declined, and instead people are turning to their computers for online content. What our community may not be unfamiliar with is that when a person cancels their cable subscription, they also cancel the PEG funding that WayCAM has funded almost entirely to date. Almost 100% of our PEG funding comes directly from Comcast and Verizon cable subscribers. Up until this year, WayCAM made the additional streaming services and on-demand content available to Wayland free of charge. However, since the cable companies do not negotiate PEG funding from internet subscribers, WayCAM can no longer operate without additional revenue. WayCAM has had to rethink our funding plans to provide the reliable, transparent and useful services you expect and deserve from us.
WayCAM is now asking our community to support us by welcoming our new launch of our redesigned memberships. Each membership is very affordable and tailored to the needs of the individual viewer. You can expect to see this around Q4 2022, please go to https://www.waycam.tv/join
Three free months, June, July and August; Payment due September 1st, January & May or annual payment and save.
• Supporter Membership: $20 annually gives you access to our studio to produce your own show on the WayCAM channels; You can also sign up for free courses to get trained on all the devices WayCAM has to offer.
• WPS Student Membership: $15 per year gives you access to our studio to produce your own shows on the WayCAM channels; You can also sign up for free courses to get trained on all the devices WayCAM has to offer. You also have full access to our public/educational on-demand and live stream access for the channel. (Must register with a valid student email)
• Silver Membership: $35 3 times per year or $95 payment (save $10.00) for the year: Receive the benefits of a supporter membership with your choice of live streaming channel (public/education OR government ) as well as unlimited on-demand access to watch any program you may have missed on our public/educational or government cable channels.
• Gold Membership: $45 three times a year or $130 payment (save $10.00) for the year: Receive the benefits of Supporter Membership with access to all live streaming channels and on-demand content.
