Home field advantage is a crucial aspect of any sports team’s likelihood of success, due in large part to the moral support of the local fanbase – especially in environments that are more inhospitable than others. College football is a prime example of how the rowdy crowd can affect the momentum in a game, regardless of what the forecasters predicted for that day’s matchup.

Centrally located on the University of Florida campus is one of the nation’s most impressive collegiate gridiron venues, officially named Steve Spurrier-Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, but better known as The Swamp. The sunken walls of this fabled field have seen many formidable opponents march in, only to crawl away in a bitter defeat at the hands of the Florida Gators.

Gainesville’s famous Gridiron Grassscape isn’t the only place enemies die, however. In fact, the Southeastern Conference features several such venues, where the infamous “12.
