Small businesses now operate in the new Staffordshire business hub, taking advantage of the flexible tenancy arrangements and ideal city center location.

With different office space, meeting room rentals or PO Box facilities to register business addresses, any company or sole proprietor is encouraged to get in touch with us to find out how it can benefit.

The Shire Hall Business Centre, which opened in July after a £2million endowment, is located at the rear of the building in what was formerly the Stafford Library.

Like the County Council’s other business centers, it offers office space, reception facilities, meeting areas, networking opportunities, and business advice and support. Units range from 97 square feet to 323 square feet and there are flexible working options including hot desking and the option to rent a mailbox.

Next Wednesday, November 30, an open afternoon between 2 and 4 p.m. will allow people to take a tour of the business center and assembly hall and ask questions. No appointments are required – visitors can simply stop by the Market Street reception area.

Content With Media is one of the companies to move into a unit in the Shire Hall Business Centre. Led by Peter Haddock, the company creates a range of media content, from videos to podcasts, as well as articles, live streaming and hosting events.

Peter said:

As a small company established in July 2019 and based in Stafford, we are experiencing high demand for our services required for expansion and hiring.

This necessitated a move to office space and when we saw the development of Shire Hall we just knew we had found our new home. It’s a fantastic modern workplace in an impressive historical building right in the city center with easy access for our employees. We have a great office but also have access to meeting rooms and breakout rooms that our clients are already using.

We also look forward to being part of a vibrant business hub in Stafford where like-minded people can collaborate and exchange ideas. You only have to enter this place to see why you want to be a part of it.”

The Stafford Chamber of Commerce has also moved to the Shire Hall Business Centre. Manager Declan Riddell said:

As the voice of the local business community, we are delighted to be based in our new home at Shire Hall, right in the heart of the county town. The Shire Hall Business Center is becoming a thriving business center for both the tenant companies based here and those who prefer a hybrid work approach and take advantage of the hot-desking facilities. The building has been beautifully renovated to create a bright and colorful work environment. We look forward to supporting the companies that work from here.”

The center management is housed in the building, which offers an ideal downtown location close to amenities such as the train station and cafes.
Any company wishing to find out more about unit costs and availability, or to book a viewing at any time, can contact Samantha Neal, Center Administrator, on [email protected]

Philip White, vice-chairman of Staffordshire County Council and cabinet member for business and skills, said:

It’s great to see companies operating from the Shire Hall Business Center and that it has made such a good impression. The excellent facilities and city center location is a real draw and we would urge any small business interested in settling in Shire Hall, whether full-time or part of the working week, to get in touch with the team here .

With flexible leases and an on-site support team, the center could offer them the ideal environment to grow and thrive.

The reopening and productive use of Shire Hall is important to Stafford and will play a significant role in the wider regeneration of the city.”
