One of the main points of discussion each week when it comes to your Play Predictor predictions is who your first goalscorer should be – trust me, I’m always hesitating on the decision myself – but this week’s choice is an easy one for me.

Kai Havertz. Ground? He’s a man in shape and looked really good in training before leaving for Germany for international duty.

Not only that, Kai is our most frequent first goalscorer this season – bet you haven’t noticed! He scored four goals for us, three of which came home. Are you beginning to understand my reasoning?

Quick tip: I noticed he missed Germany’s last game due to illness, but Graham Potter has confirmed he’s shrugged it off and can start for us on Saturday.

strikes in the second half

Here’s a little tip from me, but keep it to yourself! Predict Chelsea to score in the second half against Aston Villa.

59 percent of our goals came in the second half and the average time for our first goal is 51 minutes – you probably guessed it, that’s the time I’ll be picking this week!

Villa conceded most often in the first 15 minutes of games and in the last 15 minutes (nine each). We score least in the first 15 minutes of a game (twice) and most in the last 15 minutes (eight times). So there are some other stats to consider!

Happy about the box?

Could Joao Felix’s trickery in the Villa penalty area decide the outcome of this game? I would stick my neck out if I had to.

We all know the Portugal international is a star and will face a veteran pro in Tyrone Mings, but after sifting through the data I think I’ve found an area for the Blues to exploit.

The Villa defender likes a challenge but has committed 15 fouls, received four yellow cards and has a 30 percent tackling success rate. With Joao a player who likes to jump through outstretched legs, could Mings probably dive in and give us set pieces in dangerous areas? Possibly…

I’ll be keeping an eye on training this week to see if that’s an area for Graham Potter and his staff to focus. Stay tuned and have fun predicting!
