The streaming TV marketplace is more competitive than ever in 2022.
Whether you’re looking for live TV or premium video-on-demand content, there are more options available than you could possibly have in a month – and certainly more fees than you and your wallet want.
So how do you get the most bang for your buck? You often have to search for the best promotional deals to get the content you want below retail price.
These offers can come in the form of a temporary promotion, a bundle discount, or even a free benefit of a cell phone subscription.
I handle streaming TV for Team Clark, so I’m constantly monitoring the market for the best deals. In this article, I will update you on the latest money-saving streaming TV deals.
These offers may be temporary, so act quickly if you see one you like. I will try to keep the offers as current as possible by updating them every month so you don’t come across an offer that is no longer available.

A temporary discount has been granted to live TV streamers
If you’re in the market for a live TV streaming subscription, look for temporary discounts. Sometimes companies use them to entice new customers instead of offering a free trial.
Here are some deals I found in a recent search for live TV streaming services:
- Hulu + Live TV offers $20 rebate per month for the first three months of service. That’s a total of $60 in potential savings. According to the fine print, the offer expires on October 5th.
- Sling TV offers half of your first month of service. That can save you up to $25 if you opt for the popular Orange + Blue package.
- DIRECT TV STREAM offers $20 rebate per month for the first two months of service. That’s a total of $40 in potential savings. According to the fine print, the offer expires on October 4th. If you choose the Choice or Ultimate package, you also get three months of HBO Max, SHOWTIME, STARZ, Cinemax® and EPIX for free.
- YouTube TV offers $10 rebate per month for the first three months of service. That’s a total of $30 in savings.
Wireless phone services offer free or discounted streaming
You may be surprised to learn that some of the best discounts or freebies for streaming TV deals come from mobile operators.
Big players in the wireless space, including Verizon and T-Mobile, have some pretty good deals for their customers. In a changing market that offers great prices from discount carriers, the big brands are increasing their monthly prices with additional perks like free streaming subscriptions.
With help from Team Clark’s Dallas, our site’s cell phone plan experts, here are some of the good streaming perks:
- T Mobile A whole range of streaming TV offers are available to customers. Magenta Max plan customers get Apple TV+ for free, and select plans also include free Netflix access and a free year of Paramount+. Customers may also be eligible for discounts on live TV services YouTube TV and Philo. You can explore T-Mobile’s streaming TV offerings here.
- Verizon is offering the Disney Bundle free to select wireless customers. Here you can see if your plan qualifies. If you have a Verizon iPhone, you can also qualify for free Apple TV+ with an Apple One Unlimited subscription.
- Total Wireless from Verizon offers free Disney+ to its top-tier unlimited subscription customers.
The Disney bundle continues to help people save
While a price hike looms, the Disney Bundle remains a great way to get three popular streaming TV services at a discount.
The Disney Bundle includes the ad-supported on-demand version of Hulu, plus Disney+ and ESPN+ for just $13.99 per month. They would total around $25 per month if you paid for each as a standalone subscription.
Hulu + Live TV subscribers now receive the Disney Bundle as part of their subscriptions.
Select Verizon customers may also receive free access to the Disney bundle.
Get Paramount+ for free through Walmart+
To increase the value of its shopping subscription, Walmart is now offering a free subscription to Walmart+ subscribers Outstanding+ Essentials subscription as one of its benefits.
Walmart+ costs $98 for a yearly subscription. The Essentials plan, Paramount’s ad-supported tier, has a retail price of $4.99 per month or $49 per year. That’s a pretty good value for people who have already paid for at least one of these services.
Paramount+ provides more details on redeeming this offer here.
Free Apple TV+ with purchase of select Apple products
If you’ve decided to buy the latest iPhone or a new MacBook, you might have access to them for free as well AppleTV+.
The current promotion is valid for three free months for new customers.

Xfinity Internet customers enjoy free Peacock Premium
If you have Xfinity for your home Internet or cable service, you may be eligible for a free one peacock Premium Subscription.
Peacock recently ran a promotion that gave new users the opportunity to subscribe to Premium for just $19.99 for a year. This promotion ended on September 30, 2022.
Peacock has a free tier, but you’ll need a Premium or Plus subscription to access popular programs like the live feed of NBC’s Sunday Night Football and the full library of popular TV shows Yellowstone and The Office.
Prime Video is included with an Amazon Prime subscription
You can pay for Amazon Prime to have your favorite products delivered to your door, but there’s streaming TV value in this subscription too.
Paying for Amazon Prime also gives you access to the Prime Video collection, which includes popular original TV shows like Jack Ryan, Reacher and The Terminal List, as well as a large collection of movies.
Football fans will also benefit from this subscription as Prime Video becomes the exclusive home of Thursday Night Football starting with the 2022 NFL season.
If you’re paying the $139 annual fee for Amazon Prime, that’s a nice bonus.
Remember: Free Streaming TV is still free
Team Clark wouldn’t be doing their job of helping you save more and spend less if we didn’t at least offer a suggestion here on how to take advantage of the free options out there.
Money whiz Clark Howard is a big fan of the emerging free streaming TV options, so I thought I’d point out a few you might want to try.
“People are really hurting their wallets by signing up for streaming product after streaming product after streaming product,” says Clark. “And when you’re done, you might subscribe to so many things that you’ll never see all the video content available. There are probably several of these that you subscribe to that you can’t watch, but you pay for them every month.
Consider checking out Pluto TV, Tubi, and The Roku Channel while dipping your toes into the free streaming TV market.
Oh, and if you’re looking for a way to watch your local channels for free, you can probably do it with the help of an antenna.
