“Terrifier 3” will be “fkn WILD,” says the director

more terrible Director Damien Leone has teased details about the planned third film, describing it as “fkn WILD”.

The slasher sequel horror 2 became a word of mouth hit last month after reports of people passing out in movie theaters. It went on exceed $10 million (£8.2 million) at the worldwide box office, from a budget of $250,000 (£206,000)

During an online watch party by horror 2 Taking to Twitter on Wednesday (November 23), Leone teased the next episode, writing, “I’ll say that… horror 3 will pick up right where part 2 ends and it’s fkn WILD.

The director previously confirmed last month that he was in early development of a third film, which may be split into two separate films.

“When I wrote Part 2, I had a Part 3 in mind,” Leone said diversity. “Part 2 raises so many unanswered questions and that was part of the design because I know I’m going to part 3. I’ve pretty much finished the entire treatment for part 3 but it’s getting so big that it could possibly be split into part 4 because I don’t want to make a 2 hour 20 minute movie. We will see.

“My fear is that eventually the well will run dry, we’ll end up jumping at the shark, there won’t be anything more to say with this character. That happens with a lot of franchises that I’m still a huge fan of. I’ve seen all those part 10 and part 13, but sometimes that could really ruin the entire franchise. If they fizzle out, or don’t have that satisfying arc, or the movie takes a different direction, it could be devastating to your entire franchise. I want to avoid that.”

He also described the difficulty in balancing the amount of blood in the third entry after the huge success of horror 2.

“I think we’re willing to fail with part 3 blood-wise no matter what because people’s expectations are so high now,” Leone said. “If I go way beyond that, we’ll be thrown into the bad taste category and if we don’t hit that, we’ll have dropped the ball. So in Part 3 I have to hit the mark with the gore. So no pressure.”

Based on events in the 2016 original, horror 2 sees the resurrection of Art The Clown (David Howard Thornton) stalking Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) and her younger brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) on Halloween night.

In the United Kingdom, horror 2 can be streamed via Amazon Prime Video.
