The original leaders after the league stage – Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals – will face off in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) finals. The final between GT and RR IPL will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
The Gujarat Titans had finished their first IPL season after 14 games with 20 points at the top of the league table. The team led by Hardik Pandya then defeated RR in Qualifying 1 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata to secure a place in the final.

The road to the final was not so smooth for RR. They went to Qualifier 2 after losing to GT. The team led by Sanju Samson then defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in that match to set up the summit with GT.
