Iga Swiatek has been in a league of his own lately; no other player on the tour has been able to match her level of tennis.
The 20-year-old has extended her winning streak to 30 games and brought her overall record for the season to an incredible 39-3. She has won her last five tournaments – most recently the Italian Open and the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Swiatek also conquered the Sunshine Doubles and the Qatar Open, unleashing a litany of top-10 players on the WTA Tour in the process.
The young Polish woman is clearly in her element, as can be seen from her clinical work with Lesia Tsurenko and Alison Riske in Paris. She won both games by a similar score of 6-0, 6-2, going point by point rather than game by game.
With the early departures of several top seeds this week, Swiatek looks set to conquer Roland Garros for the second time in her career.

World No. 95 Danka Kovinic has made it to the third round of the French Open for the first time in her career. This is also her second such performance at a Grand Slam this season, reaching the same stage at the Australian Open.
The 27-year-old has thus secured a nice payday and a jump in the individual classification.
Their casualties here include rising Russian star Liudmila Samsonova (2-6, 6-2, 6-1) and Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-3, 7-5).
Kovinic has had her moments this season after beating players like Emma Raducanu and Karolina Pliskova. She also reached the semi-finals at the Marbella Challenger and won the ITF Wiesbaden, despite retiring against Marina Bassol’s Ribera in their opening round match in Spain.
Although Danka is experienced, it’s hard to imagine her overthrowing Swiatek. She’s still rusty, inconsistent, and way behind in terms of skill.
