Striim brings real-time data integration and streaming to AWS applications

Striim Inc. is expanding its real-time data integration capabilities with the launch of Striim Cloud on Amazon Web Services Inc., which enables customers to stream data to their AWS-based applications the moment it is generated.

Striim Cloud on AWS is generally available today, making it easy to deploy autonomous, real-time data pipelines to any application hosted on AWS. Organizations can perform continuous query, enrichment, and analysis of live streaming data instead of waiting for it to land in a target database or data warehouse as they normally would. This makes it possible to build applications that sit directly on top of the data pipeline and extend their data capabilities without sacrificing performance, Striim claims.

Striim’s data integration software is all about reducing the difficulty of moving data between different IT environments. Exporting large amounts of data from a complex application like a database usually requires extensive changes to its configuration. Technical challenges also arise when a company wants to continue using an application after its data has been migrated to a new environment.

Usually, migrating the data just once is not enough: any new information that is added to the original application over time must also be migrated. Striim’s platform is able to automatically synchronize data changes between systems, and in the event of a failure it can even halt this process to avoid errors and duplicate entries.

Striim believes these capabilities will find fertile ground with AWS users. As it explains, countless industries such as retail, manufacturing, logistics and supply chain, healthcare and others are pushing to become more responsive and reliable.

With its real-time data streaming model, Striim offers operations managers in these industries a data analytics architecture that can access the most up-to-date information to make business decisions. To be effective, organizations need real-time systems that can ingest, process, query, and analyze data as it is generated, and that’s what Striim Cloud on AWS aims to deliver.

“The ability to make strategic business decisions in real time is critical to successfully competing in today’s digital economy,” said Alok Pareek, Striim’s co-founder and executive vice president of product. “Striim Cloud is a powerful SaaS platform that runs natively on AWS and offers enterprise customers an invaluable advantage in achieving this goal.”

By providing instant access to what’s happening across multiple real-time applications, the company says it can better inform marketing campaigns, supply chain operations and other use cases that need up-to-date information. At the same time, the platform provides a unified view of all the data pipelines an organization relies on. This makes it much easier to add new or modify existing pipelines, with all the heavy lifting done by Striim in the background.
