The NBA season is upon us and there is a lot of excitement surrounding the Sixers. A year after an Eastern Conference title, the team consolidated its core by retaining James Harden and adding key depth elements to the rotation. But how did Vegas rate the Sixers ahead of the new campaign?
Betting on the Sixers
There are many ways to bet on the Sixers’ success this offseason. If you’re new to betting or about to open your favorite app, listen up. What many people don’t know is that every sportsbook offers new customers RISK FREE bets for signing up. So a $10 bet with your current sportsbook could actually net you over $200 in free bets if you used it with a new sportsbook instead!
You can sign up for as many or as few offers as you see fit. But if you want to maximize your returns, instead of betting $50 with one book, spread it out among the five below and get at the end more than 10x that amount of money to bet with, absolutely risk free!
Sixers to win the 2022-23 NBA Championship: +1500
The Sixers had a stellar offseason, but according to Vegas, there are six teams better prepared to win a ring. From the Warriors, Bucks and Celtics to the Nets, Clippers and surprisingly the Suns, the Sixers find themselves in sixth place early on. However, this provides an optimal situation to bet behind them.
Let’s take the Eagles as an example. They were +4000 to win the Super Bowl by NFL draft. After four unbeaten opening games, they are now at +800. A 40/1 bet and an 8/1 bet are two very different things, and it’s always better to be early in situations like this.
The good news is that you can take advantage of a sign up offer like the one for UniBet below and secure a risk free bet on the Sixers to win it all. In the worst case, you lose nothing. In the best-case scenario, your winnings will be more than double what you would get if you bet without the offer.
Sixers win Eastern Conference: +650
The East is pretty stacked this year. The Nets look scary (but always seem to find a way to look like puppies mid-season), but it’s the Celtics that will draw the majority of bettors’ attention. The Sixers, in turn, sit behind those two teams and the Bucks in the race for the East, so think of it this way.
Last year they finished 4th in the East.
Have they gotten better in the off-season?
Have the other three teams improved enough to make the Sixers the fourth-best team in the division?
If you answered no to any of the above questions, you know what to do.
Sixers win overall: Over/Under 50.5 -120
The Sixers had 51 wins last year. If the odds really do say the Sixers are the fourth best team in the East then I hate to say it but that’s mispriced and makes sense to bet under.
Joel Embiid wins MVP: +650
Joel Embiid started the off-season at +500, level on points with Luka Doncic at the top of the MVP odds race. He now sits just behind Giannis while Doncic has bounced at odds of just over 4/1.
Of course, this is due to a season that many felt was more than worthy of winning the award eventually claimed by Nikola Jokic. For reference, the Joker is 4th in the MVP Futures rankings, sitting behind Giannis.
Joel Embiid averaged 28.5 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 3.0 APG, 1.4 BPG and 1.0 SPG in 51 games played during the 2021 season. The talented big man was absolutely dominant in his fifth NBA campaign and proved to be the superstar Philly dreamed of when he was selected third overall in the 2014 draft.
Many believed that Joel Embiid was stripped of MVP honors last season. If you’re optimistic in the NBA about righting that mistake and embiid tearing the league apart again, there’s no better time to support him than now.
