A new Bad Ax fall season brought a new head coach to the sidelines of football. In his first season at the helm, coach Steve VerBug led the Hatchets to a 6-3 regular season record and a playoff appearance. The Hatchets fell to Laker in the opening round of the playoffs.
In volleyball, the Lady Hatchets won the Greater Thumb West title, sharing it with Cass City. The Lady Hatchets and Lady Red Hawks share regular season games. However, the Lady Red Hawks defeated Bad Ax in the District Finals.
In football, the Hatchets won the Greater Thumb Conference for the fourth straight year. However, the Hatchets fell to Valley Lutheran in the quarterfinals.
In cross country, Caleb Geiger qualified for the state finals in Division 3. He finished 150th in the state with a time of 18:17.05.
The Hatchets look to build on their successes for the winter and spring seasons.
