Casper Ruud versus Lorenzo Sonego head to head

In his sixth straight win, Ruud saw off world No. 61 Emil Ruusuvuori 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round of the competition.
Ruud, on the pitch for two hours and 10 minutes, destroyed his Finnish opponent as he saved all four break points he faced in the encounter.
The world number eight, in turn, broke Ruusuvuori four times in the match, once a piece in the first two sets and twice in the second to end the match without too much worry.
That victory followed a difficult opener for Ruud, in which local hero Jo-Wilfried Tsonga secured the first set in a tie-breaker before the Norwegian had to come back to win the next three and the match. Ruud had to deal with three tie-breakers in this encounter.

Sonego Skittles Sousa with ease
There was a feeling that Joao Sousa would give Sonego a race for his money in the second round, but the Italian player showed he’s stronger as he advanced to the third round with a straight-set win
Sonego, who reached the fourth round at the French Open two years ago, sent on Sousa 7-6(4) 6-3 6-4 to secure a place in the round of 32.
The match lasted two hours and 39 minutes and saw Sonego shoot 10 aces and a whopping 47 winners with just 33 unforced errors in the encounter. And while Sonego was broken three times, he broke back five times, including early breaks in the second and third sets that helped him claim the win.
And while Ruud will be a challenge of a different, superior kind, Sonego’s clinical play so far should give him the confidence to head into the encounter.
