Casper Ruud against Emil Ruusuvuori head to head
There have been two previous encounters between these two players and Ruud has won them both. The most recent game came in Barcelona earlier this year as Ruud notched a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ruusuvuori.

Ruud has always enjoyed his time on clay and while being led to four sets by the retired Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, he recorded another win on the surface.

Tsonga was back to his sluggish self in the fourth set, but Ruud finally broke his resistance in the ensuing tie-breaker and balled him in to move into the second.
A win here will take him to the third round for the fourth time of the season at Roland-Garros. Ruud would love to do a lot more considering his record on Red Dirt.
Ruusuvuori blocks the losing streak in three games
Ruusuvuori’s form on clay seemed to have developed quite well for someone ranked 61 in the world, but he had then suffered three consecutive defeats, including a qualifying defeat in Rome.
Because of that, it was a big tick for Ruusuvuori’s fighting qualities as he faced a bigger challenge here as he went from two sets to one in his first set here and beat him in five against local hero Ugo Humbert won.
The Finn won 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(4), 6-4, 6-2 in a match that lasted three hours and 48 minutes, with Humbert managing to break his opponent four times. However, Ruusuvuori made sure he had the last laugh with seven breaks of serve in the encounter.
What Ruusuvuori wants is to eliminate the 48 unforced errors his slugger made against Humbert as he faces Ruud. Can he still challenge the Norwegian?
