Royal Oak officials set to spend $28m in COVID relief funds – Daily Tribune

Royal Oak City commissioners are nearing a decision on how the city should allocate millions of dollars in pandemic relief funds.

The commissioners will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for a workshop on the subject and hear insights from surveys and community engagement efforts on how the $28 million in funding is being raised under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) can best be spent ).

City Manager Paul Brake said officials would review and discuss key areas where those funds should be spent.

A number of city dwellers and business owners were able to choose their top seven spending allocations from 21 different potential funding areas in polls and a public meeting last month.
