HighSchoolOT had the opportunity to watch Weddington High School’s final Spring Ball practice in 2023. Also in attendance were 3-star QB Tyler Budge, 3-star WR Keenan Jackson, Wake Forest DB conscript Sam Neely, standout classmates of 2026 Aiden Harris and Thomas Davis Jr., and head coach Andy Capone.

All right, if we go up there, ok. Uh, Gannon’s team, you won. Alright, the off-season competition, you’ll eat first. After that everyone else gets steaks, then we go, junior, sophomore, freshman. All right, everyone will eat. But congratulations to the team, um, applause to you guys. OK. Understand. Just because the Spring Ball is over doesn’t mean the off-season is over. We still have a week on the road. You still have one week of classes and then one week of exams. In order. Make sure you take care of it. The accused should sit back and say yes I put in a lot of work that is all for nothing and you will get it in the summer but make sure you do the work you have done in the last three months or so , appreciate all three things over the next 10 days. So I know everyone was like, “Okay, you have to be healthy to go to the gym.” Alright, keep it up. All right, everyone has to go to camp. In order. I understand that as you move forward you can ensure that you have your ultimate goal in mind, which is marriage in football. In order. OK. So make sure we talk about it some more. But make sure you understand that while I’m camping, we still have a purpose. When it comes down to it, we have to win football games. In order. It’s a marathon coach who said it. In order. It’s a marathon. So make sure you are smart about your decisions. In order. But please, I appreciate the work you’ve done. I know this coach, we appreciate him. In order. We look forward to making it and playing against other people. But make sure that when you go today, tell someone you’ve been training with, you, someone in your training group, and make sure you tell yourself. You know, I appreciate the work. I said it.
