In this limited web series event by Red Rooms: Hollywood producer Leilah Black, Armenian hitman Alex Terzian, Republican Senator Sheila Larkin, former priest Stephen Bishop and international mogul Ethan Campbell are being held captive and streamed live on a popular dark web reality show in which viewers vote on who lives and who dies. While enduring psychological torture, the imprisoned candidates reveal they have a devilish connection in their past.

Joshua Butler and I were developing a project and reminiscing about our favorite industry days of years past when we met in the horror movie scene. I’ve been a super fan of Joshua’s work for years as he truly has the creative and intellectual genius of a madman! In 2019 we shot a proof of concept for our project, which pays tribute to his extremely successful film VLOG (2008) from the manufacturers of SAW, which later became a hit TV series. I loved being led by Joshua with his passion and intensity, so we committed to continue working together. When COVID-19 hit Hollywood and we were all in isolation, I called a virtual production meeting and suggested we experiment by filming each character virtually from home and our incredibly talented actors David, Susan, Ricky and Noah jumped in a virtual creative experience with us and has given us more than we could ever have asked for!” – Brooke Lewis Bellas
“As a filmmaker, I’ve always wanted to work with the multi-talented Brooke Lewis Bellas. She’s certainly a legendary scream queen, but she’s so much more. Brooke is a talented actress and an extremely accomplished producer. Red Rooms was also a chance to make an amazing, terrifying, relevant piece of cinema within the rules of the new production era that COVID-19 has written for us. During isolation, Brooke had suggested drawing a piece from another concept we had developed, which inspired me to create Red Rooms. It is a privilege to direct such an excellent cast – David, Susan, Ricky and Noah – alongside Brooke. Personally, I’m obsessed with the dark web. With a VPN and a Tor browser, you can peek into the 96% of the internet that is hidden from all of us. Once I stumbled across the infamous “red rooms” available on onion sites that are untraceable and run by the most anonymous of the anonymous. These sites present bitcoin paying voyeurs with a real human trapped in a locked room being subjected to interactive torture. Since then I’ve had nightmares and wonder how I would react in these horrible circumstances. As a director, I feel that the best horror always humanizes its characters, makes them relatable, and invites us to wonder how we would act in our most frightened situations.
