Props for NBA players
Bradley Beal Over 4.5 Assists vs. Spurs (-118 via BetRivers) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We caught a lucky break with Bradley Beal which allows us to bet on his assists for the second game in a row. The last time he played we played the over 4.5 assists and he had five assists in the first half which made it an easy win for us.
Luckily, he didn’t pick up another assist and finished the game with a five. We can revisit that price point for Beal for Monday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs as his odds haven’t changed.
The predicted number of assists for Beal on Monday is just over six, well above the total of 4.5. Based on that forecast, this support should trade at -245 instead of -118. In other words, this bet has a positive expected value of 31%, earning it a rare five-star rating.
Josh Giddey Over 5.5 assists vs. Warriors (-120 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
In the past we’ve had fairly good success when we identified the value of a player’s assists, our bet missed, and then we came back with another bet on them because they have even greater value, say Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo.
We’ll have this exact scenario with Josh Giddey when he and the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Golden State Warriors on Monday. Giddey is expected to be down 6.6 cents against the Warriors, so over 5.5 assists should trade at -175.
There is a chance that its price point will reach this level before the tip as FanDuel has already increased its odds from over 5.5 (-120) to (-142). Priced at -175, this bet has a positive expected value of 16% and is rated a four star bet.
Since the -120 is only available at BetMGM and DraftKings, I would have no hesitation in placing a bet on this prop. Several other sportsbooks such as FanDuel and PointsBet have already adjusted the Over 5.5 and reduced our lead.
D’Angelo Russell Over 6.5 assists vs. Kings (+115 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Welcome back to assists prop D’Angelo Russell! He’s been nice to us the last few times we’ve supported him, so let’s hope he can earn us another green tick on Monday.
In my parlay picks for Monday’s same game, I highlighted Russell’s advantage as one of the best out of the six players included in the combo. Therefore, we find ourselves even with a single bet on him.
Considering Russell is expected to drop 7.3 assists against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, we can rate that assist at -140. As we get +115 from BetMGM for this prop, we’re back on the Russell train.
