Young aspiring point guard Trae Young spent a week with superstar point guards Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving.

Often compared to Curry for his style of play and shooting, Young has admired the four-time champion on several occasions. Additionally, Irving is one of the best ball carriers and finishers in the league, so just a little bit of play time with him will make Young better. His teammate Clint Capela was also present at practice.

LeBron James has signed a two-year extension with the LA Lakers

After much speculation about whether he will sign the extension, LeBron James has agreed to a two-year, $97.1 million extension with the LA Lakers. The deal could be worth as much as $111 million if the salary cap rises in 2024. He has a senior-year player option that aligns his contract with Anthony Davis’s and gives the Lakers the flexibility to bring on more players.

His deal includes a 15% trade kicker and could not include a no trade clause as he is signing an extension and not a new deal. He will be 38 years old before his current contract expires, so he could only sign a two-year extension. The “Over 38 Rule” in the 2017 CBA does not allow players over the age of 38 to sign contracts for more than three years.

The $97.1 million two-year extension, which includes a 15 percent trade kicker, makes LeBron James the highest-earning player in NBA history with $532 million in guaranteed money. He outperforms Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant. https://t.co/UUHMspiKZp
