Nine away games will be broadcast on NBC Sports Washington, beginning with Racing Louisville on April 1

Washington, D.C., (03/30/2023) – Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) and Washington Spirit today announced a broadcast partnership that will broadcast nine of Spirit’s away games on regional television during the 2023 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) regular season. The partnership includes the live broadcast of games and integrated social media for the women’s professional soccer team on NBC Sports Washington’s linear channels.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Washington Spirit to provide more opportunities for passionate NWSL fans in the Washington area to see their favorite players and to bring this incredible league closer to our existing viewers,” said Friday Abernethy, General Manager, NBC SportsWashington.

“A regional broadcast partnership with NBC Sports Washington is another building block in our commitment to advance women’s football,” added Emma May, President of Business Operations at Spirit. “Regional cable coverage gives fans across the region better access to see our world-class players when the club is on the road.”

Regional broadcasts bring prominent figures from the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT), including Trinity Rodman, Andi Sullivan, Ashley Sanchez and Ashley Hatch, to homes across the region before and after the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The broadcast schedule begins with Racing Louisville on Saturday, April 1 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The Spirit will also face 2022 NWSL Champion Portland Thorns, Angel City FC and NY/NJ Gotham FC away from home. Find out about NBC Sports Washington coverage near you here. At home, fans can watch their favorite Washington Spirit players at every home game at Audi Field. Fans can secure tickets to all Spirit home games in 2023 with a season membership. Season membership, available here, grants fans access to preferred seating, an exclusive gift from Spirit, access to special events throughout the season, and more. The next home game will kick off on Saturday, April 22 when the Spirit hosts the Houston Dash at 7:00 p.m. EST. Tickets are now available.
