Main Street Washington’s mission is to create a culturally diverse, economically vibrant downtown neighborhood. This is accomplished through strong partnerships, historical preservation and coordinated events by empowering and educating businesses, volunteers and the community.
MSW has worked diligently to grow our volunteer base, our investors and our board of directors. We’re proud to say that community members have reached out to get involved, and we’ve added three new board members, vigorously reassembled our four core committees, and attracted new investors, while also strengthening relationships with many community members and companies have rebuilt.
These board members have breathed life into MSW for many years, and even the new ones have already started organizing events and forging new relationships that only advance our mission and help us achieve our goals.
In the coming year we will be more visible – you will see our director and board members out and about in the community, in shops and businesses, at festivals and fundraisers. We will be there so we know what our downtown needs, when it needs it, and be able to communicate effectively to our public. Downtown Washington is the heart of the city, and the city of Washington is the heart of Washington County, so we must all beat to the rhythm together to ensure a vibrant and resilient future for our community.
