English football meets the United States in the second game of Group B at the World Cup, with the Three Lions putting themselves in a very strong position thanks to their big opening win against Iran.
Gareth Southgate will be hoping Harry Kane recovers in time to play a role, although goalscoring attacks from the bench who look in fine form will at least allay some concerns if he doesn’t make it.
The USA are under even more pressure to get a result after failing to maintain their lead against Wales. Gregg Berhalter could therefore decide to reshuffle the field in midfield as they appear to be unbeaten at the very least.
England have never beaten the USA in a World Cup game, with the Americans winning in 1950 and the two sides drawing in 2010.
Here’s everything you need to know before playing.

What’s new from the team?
Harry Kane is a real doubt for England after suffering an ankle injury against Iran. The Tottenham striker is awaiting the results of a scan. Marcus Rashford would be the favorite to replace but Callum Wilson could also be an option despite the Newcastle man missing training on Tuesday.
Kyle Walker wasn’t fit enough to play the opener due to a groin problem, but he’s back in contention here. Doubts remain about James Maddison as Leicester misses training with a knee injury.
Midfielder Yunus Musah was substituted off against Wales with a toe injury. Weston McKennie is struggling with groin problems. Should neither of them be fit enough to start, Cristian Roldan could play in midfield.
Sergino Dest was doubtful for the Wales game and then left the game which could also put his place here in question.
Gregg Berhalter will reconsider Gio Reyna from the start after holding him back in the opening game over fitness concerns.
England XI: Pickford; Trippier, Steine, Maguire, Shaw; Rice, Bellingham, Mountain; Saka, Kane, Sterling
USA-XI: Gymnasts; Yedlin, Zimmermann, Ries, Robinson; Acosta, Adams, Roldan; Weah, Sergeant, Pulisic
United States: 19/4
England struggled against Iran in the opener and the United States, lively against Wales, collapsed in the second half. Southgate’s side will have too much here and improve the game to take six points. England 2-1 United States.
