India’s shuttle ace PV Sindhu is the tournament’s top seed in women’s singles as she is fourth seeded. For the men, Lakshya Sen is the seventh seed. The other players in the draw are HS Prannoy, Parupalli Kashyap and Saina Nehwal, all unseeded in the tournament.
The annual badminton tournament is the tenth tournament of the BWF World Tour 2022, which has been held since 2007. This year is the 12th edition of the tournament.

Men’s draw

Men’s singles
World No. 9 Lakshya Sen is leading the men’s draw from the Indian side as he was seeded seventh in the tournament. Lakshya will start the campaign by meeting Denmark’s Hans-Kristian Vittinghus in the first round. In the second round he is likely to face fellow countryman HS Prannoy as both Indians find themselves in the same neighbourhood. Prannoy begins his campaign against Denmark’s Rasmus Gemke
Other Indians in the draw include unseeded Parupalli Kashyap, who will face Chinese Taipei’s Wang Tzu-wei in the first round. Sameer Verma is the other Indian in the men’s singles. He meets a qualifier in the first round.

In men’s doubles, India will have sole representation from unseeds Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy, along with other top players such as world No. 8 pair Chirag Shetty and Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy, as well as Thomas Cup winners Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun as well as Krishnaprasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Panjala have decided not to participate in this tournament.
The duo Attri-Reddy meets the Indonesians Pramudya Kusumawardana and Yeremia Rambitan. If they win the first game, they are likely to face fifth-seeded pairing from Indonesia, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

Unseeded Saina Nehwal will start her campaign against Denmark’s Line Kjaersfeldt in the first round. She is in the same quarter as third-seeded Carolina Marin, who will be playing her second tournament of the year after a long injury layoff. Nehwal will likely face Marin in the second round.

In women’s doubles, Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy will be in action after missing the Uber Cup and Thailand Open as Sikki picked up an injury.
