Georgian football moves the needle with an official 5-star visit

Georgian football hosted some of the biggest goals for 2023 during official visits last weekend and according to the social media photos, things were going well.

Recruits ran all over campus with their families on the annual scavenger hunt. The best part was seeing that huge smile on head coach Kirby Smart’s face when every recruit had to find him and take a selfie.

In these moments, trainers and recruits can bond with each other.

The Dawgs coaching staff is working on the Class of 2023 and this past weekend revealed some great news about future visits and how social media has exploded over the visitors there. It felt like the weekend had been a resounding success.

Georgia Football proves they are the best recruiters by nailing the 5 star official visit.

In the 247Sports 2023 Team Composite Rankings, the Dawgs are #6 with eight commitments, including six 4-star and two 3-star commitments. Georgia is #2 in the SEC behind Arkansas, which is #5 overall.

The Dawgs aren’t moving slowly with this recruiting class, they’re strategic – a couple of key official visits this past weekend, including 5-star Jayden Wayne.

According to 247Sports, Wayne is the 28th overall, 3rd edge rusher and 1st player from Washington.

He’s a massive target and someone the Dawgs desperately want and rightly so – Wayne is a stud.

This guy is someone Georgia needs to land to keep this elite level of talent in the front seven, and he has the size and skill to be a top-tier SEC player.

Wayne is a 5-star edge rusher from Washington state, so this cross-country visit was massive. He came for G-Day and that visit seemed to go well, but this time in Athens it was an official visit so the red carpet was rolled out for him.

According to 247Sports, Wayne is the 28th overall, 3rd edge rusher and 1st player from Washington.

Georgia is one of the teams fighting for Wayne and it was after that visit that the Dawgs moved the needle. They received the first official visit for this five-star hotel this summer and the Dawgs raised the bar.

The other teams fighting for him are Alabama, LSU, Miami and Oregon.

At 6-5 and 245 pounds, Wayne is an ideal edge rusher and has room to grow. He has a great first step and broke the ball. Wayne has excellent agility and speed.

I like how Wayne Blocker rips and doesn’t give up in the pursuit. The Georgia coaches could do wonders with him. Oregon has Dan Lanning, but Georgia has Tray Scott and Chidera Uzo-Diribe, so this duo is just as good.

Making Athens feel like home will be key to Wayne, and this visit probably gave him a good indication of what it would be like.

Georgia football has a great shot at Wayne and after that official visit the rest of his senior schools will need a lot of luck to steer him away from the Dawgs.
