FIFA has unveiled a tent city it intends to host as part of a ‘fan village’ experience during this winter’s tournament in Qatar.

However, the tents will be no ordinary camping experience and will cost supporters around £350 a night to stay at the Al Khor venue.

With hotel bookings limited in the tiny state for the tournament, which begins in November, it’s still probably the cheapest form of accommodation for any fan wanting to watch their team compete.

However, the tents are more than just your average cramped experience you might experience at a music festival.

They are spacious, have air conditioning, an en suite bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities.

In addition, there are the luxuries of a TV, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, fridge, safe and even WiFi – matching many of the facilities offered in a typical hotel room.

As the tent city is based in Al Khor, it is also one of the cities that will host World Cup matches – including England’s clash against the United States in their Group B game on November 25, as well as one of the December 14 semi-finals .

The venue is also just 40 minutes from the capital, Doha.

FIFA has described the accommodation as a “unique experience” that allows fans to connect with Qatar’s culture.

Fan Village Al Khor offers a unique Arabian camping experience that both reflects and embraces Qatar’s traditions.

‘The accommodation is comfortably furnished, full of contemporary touches and in a style reminiscent of a traditional Qatari tent.

‘The direct location on Farkiah Beach allows you to escape and connect with nature, culture and the beauty of the golden sands.’

England are hoping to reach the semi-finals of the last World Cup in Russia as well as last year’s Euro 2020 final.

Gareth Southgate’s men have been grouped with Wales, the United States and Iran and will face the latter in their first group game on November 21.
