Ana Bogdan played very well in the first two sets and Azarenka had to dig really deep. The match had 34 break points, indicating the intensity of the match.

Petkovic has a surprise in mind
The German tennis player Andrea Petkovic won her first round match quite easily against the local player Oceane Dodin. Petkovic won 6-4, 6-2. Dodin came into Petkovic’s service games but failed to convert while Petkovic had a 55% breakpoint conversion rate.
The former top-10 player had reached the Roland Garros semi-finals in 2014 and has reached the third round three times since then.
Petkovic could only play 5 matches on clay before this tournament and 4 of them were qualifiers. In 2021 she had a 14-8 record on clay and won the title in Cluj-Napoca. She also reached the Hamburg final on clay.
The German will need to play her best game of the season to have a chance against Azarenka, especially considering her H2H record.
Azarenka v Petkovic prediction and tip
Azarenka came through a much more difficult match than Petkovic. However, it may have inadvertently helped Azarenka that she had to find a very high level to find a win and will go into the second round match with plenty of confidence. The former Australian Open champion should be able to win this match in straight sets.
