Auger-Aliassime survives a first-round scare
World No. 9 Felix-Auger Aliassime was close to being eliminated in the opening round after losing the opening two sets to Peruvian qualifier Juan Pablo Varillas, but the Canadian raised his level as the match progressed by a third First-round elimination at the French Open to be avoided for the first time in a row.

Auger-Alissime, who claimed his first ATP title in Rotterdam earlier this year and also finished runners-up in Marseille, improved to 24-12 this season.

World No. 155 Camilo Ugo Carabelli made a successful start to his senior career on Sunday when he stunned world No. 155. 41 Aslan Karatsev in the opening round.
