Shaquille O’Neal successfully landed a shoe deal with Reebok in his first NBA season. Only a few beginners of his time managed this feat. Originally released in 1992, Shaq Attaq arrived just in time for O’Neal’s Rookie of the Year-winning rookie season with the Orlando Magic.
The shoes were made using the best technology Reebok had at the time, including a connection to the custom-fit pump. They were initially made available in a squad-appropriate colorway: white, black, and azure.
Shaq Attaqs were eventually withdrawn from the retail market. Then in 2017 came the 25th anniversary of the cult shoe. For the duration of this calendar year, Reebok has restocked the O’Neal rookie shoes.
For Shaq Attaq’s 30th birthday, Reebok seems to have similar plans. On September 23rd, the Reebok Shaq Attaq returns in the original style. Shaq’s branded footwear will be available at Reebok.com, Snipes, The Athlete’s Foot and a few other select retailers.

The cost of publishing this year is $180. The abundance of talented players distinguishes basketball today from then. Although there were many prominent players in the 1990s, few of them were truly exceptional.
Shaquille O’Neal was one of those athletes. Shaq averaged a double-double in college basketball while attending LSU. He was top of the line averaging 21.6 points, 13.5 rebounds and a 61% competent field goal percentage.
A 7ft 1 monster that could easily dive in on its opponents whenever it wanted was difficult to stop. The basketball world was immediately alarmed by Shaquille O’Neal’s accomplishments during his college days.

He went into the 1992 NBA draft and was selected first overall. In addition, Reebok offered the tall German a shoe deal that would be ready for the 1992–93 season. O’Neal was ready to prove he deserved all the credit while playing for the Orlando Magic.
For a beginner, Big Diesel produced amazing numbers. He scored 23.4 points on 56.2% of his shots, grabbed 13.9 rebounds and blocked 3.5 shots per game. These startling stats earned him the Rookie of the Year title.

Shaq became the first rookie since Michael Jordan to be selected as an all-star starter during his rookie campaign. Shaq certainly lived up to the nickname of his signature shoe, the Shaq Attaq. He smashed a few backboards, blocked virtually all shots, and controlled color. Can you understand, to use Shaq’s words?
Reebok made other headlines this week alongside the “Shaq Attaq” release. According to a statement released Wednesday by lifestyle brand operations Sparc Group, Todd Krinsky will become Reebok’s CEO. He will report to Marc Miller, CEO of Sparc Group, and will continue to be based at the company’s Boston headquarters.
Matt O’Toole, a veteran leader, will be replaced by Krinsky in 2023 when he joins Authentic Brands Group (ABG), the company that owns Reebok. Until O’Toole takes over as Executive Vice Chairman of ABG, he will help Krinsky through the transition.
