RALEIGH, NC – NC State Football will boast a robust seven-game home schedule in 2023, the ACC released today. The Wolfpack, who have gone 18-2 at Carter-Finley Stadium for the past three seasons, will also face a new list of conference opponents when the league returns to a non-division for the first time since 2005 -game overrides.
Wolfpack Nation has 93% renewed 2023 season tickets to date, and with over 34,000 season tickets already sold, NC State has surpassed 30,000 season tickets sold every year since 2002 (excluding the COVID year of 2020). After opening the season away in UConn on September 2nd, the Wolfpack will meet the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in their home opener on September 9th. Home games against VMI on September 16 and Marshall on October 7 round out the tournament on Pack’s non-conference list.
Dave DorenNC’s 11th national team roster will play two back-to-back Friday night games to wrap up September: the 22nd in Virginia for the ACC opener and the 29th at home to Louisville.
The Wolfpack will face all three of its league rivals in the states in 2023, beginning with the short road trip to Duke on Oct. 14. After a bye week, Clemson will be paying a return visit to Carter-Finley on October 28.
November begins and ends with home games, as the pack hosts Miami on November 3, and then travels to Wake Forest (11/11) and Virginia Tech (11/18) on back-to-back Saturdays before Saturday’s regular-season finals vs. UNC after Thanksgiving (11/25).
The ACC last June announced a new football scheduling model based on a 3-5-5 structure, with each team playing three main opponents annually and playing the other 10 league teams twice during the four-year cycle, once at home and once at the league Street. The schedule calls for each team to play all 13 conference opponents home and away at least once during the four-year cycle.
NC State’s annual opponents for the next four seasons will be Clemson, Duke and UNC.
