That perfomance Universe has had us in a stranglehold since the original series debuted in 2014. The original show followed James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) as he tried to break away from his life as a drug lord. However, he soon learned that he could not escape his past. The series has since spawned several spinoffs.
Now former NBA star Glen “Big Baby” Davis will be starring in one of the shows.
Dive deep into the “Power” universe
When perfomance ended, Starz announced four spinoff series, Power Book II: Spirit, Book of Power III: Raise Kanan, Power Book IV: Power, and Power Book V: Influence.
Spirit follows Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.), who balances his life as a drug dealer and college student after murdering his father, Ghost. The series takes place directly after the events of perfomance in NYC. Book of Power III: Raise Kanan is a precursor of perfomance. Set in early ’90s Queens, the show follows Ghost and Tommy’s mentor, Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis) through his teenage years.
Power Book IV: Power follows Ghost’s best friend Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) as he leaves New York for Chicago. Finally, although it hasn’t aired yet, Power Book V: Influence will chronicle Rashad Tate’s (Larenz Tate) second run for governor of New York.
Former NBA star Glen Davis will star in a “Power” spinoff
That perfomance Universe is no stranger to familiar faces. Mary J. Blige and Method Man have starring roles Spirit, and rapper Kendrick Lamar even had a cameo in the original series. Now former NBA star Glen Davis is set to star in one of the spinoffs.
He has appeared on several other shows including On the bench, shamelessand The Lincoln Attorney. Now the NBA champion is hinting at his next role in the NBA perfomance Universe. “I started acting because of comedy. I do stand-up comedy, so I did a comedy show in LA, and a woman does casting, and she booked my first job on Shameless,” Davis said on the All The Smoke podcast. he continued
“So, after Shameless, which was a great role and a great opportunity because this shoe is doing so well, I got another call-to-show opportunity bench, this is another lawyer show. Then I had more options Lincoln attorney… They gave me a few lines, but just that little bit booked me another gig for Power. He added that Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson suggested him for the role after seeing it The Lincoln Attorney. “They said brother we have you; You will be a character in Power. It’s a blessing. It’s really a blessing, man. I majored in drama in college…Entertainment is my thing and it’s really a blessing to be able to do what I love again.”

Will Power Book V: Influence still be released?
As the perfomance Spinoffs continue to thrive on Starz, fans are wondering what’s up with Influence. Rashad Tate was a big presence Power Book II: Spiritbut the status of influence seems to be up in the air.
“Who knows if you’ll see him pop up anywhere,” Tate told The Jasmine Brand. “The moment I know what’s happening, you’ll all know what’s happening.”
Fans hope that the third season of Spirit will be an important gateway for influence. Finally, in Season 2, fans watched as Tate regained some of the political footsteps he had lost in perfomance season 6
