Coca-Cola Vacation Car:

  • M Health Fairview Sports Centre, Woodbury
  • 9 December from 6pm to 9pm
  • Free admission

The Coca-Cola caravan rolls into town this weekend. The caravan is a Christmas-themed Coca-Cola semi-truck, illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights. Visitors have the opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus in a festive setting, skate on the outdoor ice rink, and enjoy a Coca-Cola drink or hot chocolate.

Other activities take place on the east lot (near the outdoor rink). Skate rentals and loops are available for $6. Guests may bring food donations to Open Cupboard, a local grocery store.

Minnesota Nordic Ski Openers:

  • Elm Creek Park Reserve, Maple Grove
  • December 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m
  • Free admission

Skiers of all skill levels and ages are invited to start the winter with free skiing, free ski rentals and free mini-lessons. A Nordic Market featuring representatives from 50 Nordic ski operators, resorts, retailers and clubs will provide a look at Nordic skiing throughout the Midwest. The first 1,500 visitors to the Nordic Ski Market will receive a free buff!

Dark Sky Festival:

  • Cook County
  • December 8th to December 11th
  • The price varies depending on the event. Reservations are required for some events.

Cook County is home to one of the darkest skies in the world. Designated as one of only 15 certified International Dark Sky Sanctuaries in the world, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) is the largest at over one million hectares. Celebrate world-class dark sky at the fifth Dark Sky Festival!

ladies Art Festival:

  • St. Mary’s University Center, Minneapolis
  • 10 December from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
  • Free entry with a suggested $1 donation

The 30th Annual Women’s Art Festival features over 70 local artists, food from Vittle’s Catering and live music throughout the day. Free parking on Oakland Ave, street parking in Park and Portland, and undercover ramp parking for a nominal fee at the Phillip’s Eye ramp one block away.

Christmas cry:

Celebrate the holiday season with this unique event. Nowhere Haunted House turns into a Christmas scare. This isn’t just a Christmas haunted house, it’s an immersive theatrical experience where the guests become part of the show! Over the course of 45 minutes, guests will journey through terrifying holiday vignettes, ghost stories and monstrous creatures from the world of historical winter folklore.

Holiday Market:

  • Malcolm Yards, Minneapolis
  • December 10th from 11am to 8pm and December 11th from 11am to 5pm
  • Free admission

Grab lunch and finish your Christmas shopping at this market. Over 20 local producers will take part in this Christmas market.

Hometown vacation:

  • Crosstown Mall, Ham Lake
  • 10th of December
  • Free admission

Visit Santa and his elves by the Vocate indoor fireplace, take photos, decorate cookies and sip a hot chocolate. The event concludes on the outdoor green space with Christmas carols and tree lighting.
