2023 Marcus (Flower Mound, Texas) wide receiver Ashton Cozart changed his commitment from the Oklahoma Sooners to the Oregon Ducks.
He was visiting the Eugene campus over the weekend, which seemed to seal the deal for his engagement. The 6-foot-2, 181-pound wideout had been engaged in Oklahoma since Feb. 4 and initially chose the Sooners over competing offers from Texas, Texas A&M and Alabama, among others.
With Cozart in the group, he becomes the second wide receiver to be incidentally picked up in Oregon’s 2023 recruiting class Jurion Dickeywho promised the Ducks on May 2nd. The Ducks also recently landed the Texas A&M transfer wide receiver Caleb Chapman for the 2022 season.
Cozart, an Under Armor All-American, is the fifth commit in Oregon’s class, which is moving from No. 35 to No. 21 nationally (according to the 247 composite), skipping schools like Florida, Clemson and Oklahoma in the process.
He is rated four stars (.9305 on 247Sports Composite) as a prospect and is ranked #164 nationally, #23 wide receiver and #32 potential in Texas.
