- Freshman Micah Harper (No. 1) will return to BYU defense this fall; Harper suffered an injury during spring camp last season that kept him out for the entire 2021 season
- Sophomore linebacker Ben Bywater changed his number from No. 33 to No. 2 that season
- Starting quarterback Jaren Hall (No. 3) has thrown for 3,003 yards, 21 touchdowns and 5 interceptions in 17 games for the Cougars
- BYU added four P5 transfers this offseason: Christopher Brooks, Houston Heimuli, Gabe Jeudy-Lally and Kingsley Suamataia
- Junior tight end Dallin Holker changed his number from No. 32 to No. 5 this season
- Senior running back Lopini Katoa has 6 touchdowns and 19 rushing touchdowns during his BYU career
- In his first three seasons at BYU, running back Jackson McChesney averaged 7.9 yards per carry (394 total yards) on 50 attempts.
- Of the 118 players on the BYU Spring roster, 8 are from Arizona
- BYU has lost nine players to the transfer portal since the end of last season; Three of those players have ended up on FBS rosters
